Warrior Class: The Black August Episode
Black August is an annual commemoration, NOT celebration, of our political prisoners – those who lost their lives during the 1970s in the gulags of California, along with the hundreds who are currently languishing under torturous conditions and being denied their basic human rights across the United States. This episode of Warrior Class, the Instructors give a reading list, teach exercises and give self-defense techniques for you to practice for the entire month.
Warrior Class: Self Defense when you Cannot See
Can you imagine how stressful, frightening and dangerous it would be to be attacked, assaulted, or aggressed upon when you are blind, or blinded by pepper spray, dust, a dark room, blindfold, or something else? This week, the Instructors will teach simple, effective techniques and training methods to improve your ability to survive or escape an attack when you cannot see.

While we were on hiatus, thanks to a strike, we did a deep dive into the Instructors' backgrounds and found some wild ish. First up we're taking the way back machine to 1986 and 18 year old Balogun and his crew - the MOB Posse (but then the DDC) - freestylin'. Two years later they won the title of the #1 MCs in Chicago, but they were not that right here. Check it out and chime in!
Warrior Class: Interview with Grandmaster Wokimbo Simmons
This Episode the Instructors interview "The Radical Professor," 10th degree Red and White belt in Aikijutsu, Dr. Wokimbo Simmons. Dr. Simmons takes issue with Warrior Class' advocacy of kicking, punching and using edged weapons and "fireharms" (HIS word) and wants to "share his knowledge" with BPM in regard to this issue before our aggressive ways get us in trouble with even "good" police and our "brothers and sisters in our military. Warrior Class accepts Dr. Simmons' offer to be interviewed by its Instructors and bestows upon the Radical Professor yet another title: *Karate Coon!*
Warrior Class: Shhhhh!
It's all fallen down, dangers at the door, the poop has hit the fan and we want to relay information or find out what is happening – how far the flooding, fires, or riots have reached; whether we need to move; which way to go, where the danger is; where to find help or get relief. Oh, and electronics aren't working, so no cell phone, walkie talkie or ham radio. Do yo know how to communicate with your loved ones and comrades? Can you speak to each other from across a crowded room or so the enemy can't decipher what you are saying? The Instructors teach simple methods of non-verbal, non-electronic communication that you and your people can use immediately!
Warrior Class: When should - and shouldn't - a man protect a woman being attacked?
Should a man always protect a woman who is being attacked? Are there times when it is just too dangerous? Are there times when a man should just mind his business? What should a woman do if no man is there - or willing - to protect her? The instructors will discuss this and will teach effective techniques you can use to protect women and women can protect themselves with minimal risk to your own well-being. Don't miss it!
Warrior Class: Rest and Relaxation for Warriors
Warriors quite often die before they turn thirty. They often suffer strokes, heart attacks and mental breakdowns before that. This week the Instructors will discuss the importance of rest and relaxation for warriors' mental and physical health and will teach effective methods to relax, rest, recharge, and reboot, so you can keep up the fight and so you can have a long and healthy life.
